He served heir to his father 9 September 1646 in Boghall, became fatuous and unable to manage his aflfairs. His cousin, Lieutenant-Colonel John Fleming, was served tutor to him on 24 May 1654. He, with consent of his tutor, disponed the lands of Boghall to Matthew Brisbane of Bosline on 22 August 1656. He died without issue.3
