| Citation: | Indenture (in the vernacular) between Alexander Mowat of Luscragy and William of Clyne of that ilk. The said William confirms the infeftment of the said Alexander, as heir of William of Clyne, his uncle ("eme"), in a half of the lands of Cultaloid and half of Dryne, in the earldom of Ross and sheriffdom of Inverness, and the said Alexander confirms the said William's infeftment of the lands of Clyne in Suthirland (Sutherland) (that is, Kirkclyne, Mylclyne, Clynelyss and "fortouris of Lyriboll"), which had been resigned by his father, the deceased William of Clyne, in the hands of the earl of Suthirland, in favour of his said son; the said William is to deliver to the said Alexander all evidents that he has of the lands of Cultaloid and Dryne, especially of the lands of Cathboll. Both parties are bound by oath on "Sanct Duthois altar", and either, in the event of non- fulfilment, is bound to pay £200 each to the king, "Sanct Duthois college kirk in Ross" and the other party.
