He obtained a charter of Easter Ogil, in the parish of Tannadyce, from his elder brother Alexander, and on 26 June 1498 his right to the possession of the estate was vindicated in a litigation with his nephew John, fourth Lord Glamis.' For ten generations the family of Easter Ogil was extremely fruitful in cadets. In 1718 William Lyon, then of Easter Ogil, disponed his estate to trustees for behoof of his creditors, and in 1740 the property was adjudged to John Lyon of Balgillo ; subsequently it passed into the hands of strangers.3
