This lady delivered her stepfather, the Earl of Argyll, by taking into the prison, when allowed to visit him, the clothes of a page in which he walked out after her. Lady Sophia seeing the sentry suspicious had the presence of mind to strike her page with her train. This reassured the sentry and the plot succeeded.6
