| He served with the army of Gustavus Adolphus, and obtained the rank of colonel. Appointed Governor of Berwick in 1648. In 1647 he bought the 'Reid Inch,' or Mugdrum island, in the loch of Lindores, from William Oliphant of Balgouie, and shortly afterwards the estate of Mugdrum from George Orme. Both these, however, he sold in 1664 to William Arnot, brother of the laird of Woodmylne. He died without issue.3 | ||
